Betty Lou Turner, age 89, passed away on Jan. 27, 2018 at Douglass, KS. She was born on June 22, 1928 at St. John, KS, the daughter of Roy G. and Edna M. (Hathaway) Staub. Betty had worked as a Chiropractor’s Assistant, Florist and Owner of the St. John Motel. She was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church, Wichita, KS. On Sept. 28, 1946 she married James Everett Turner, Jr. at St. John, he preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia G. Carr (Randy), Douglass, KS; a sister, Loretta Karst, Topeka, KS; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband James, a son, Sterling Turner, two brothers, Victor and Larry Staub. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at Minnis Chapel, St. John with Pastor Phil Thengvall presiding. Burial will follow in the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John. Visitation will be on Friday from 1-7PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Rivercross Hospice in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
