Bob Jay Burns, Sr., age 56, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021 at the Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington, KS. He was born on Dec. 24, 1964 in Salem, OR, the son of Jack Dennis and Sharon Evone (Mullins) Burns. On Aug. 16, 1992, he married Rachel Dawn (Hall) in Issaquah, WA. He was a resident of Stafford County, KS, since 1996. Bob loved God, family, his dogs Slinky and Gracie and was an avid fisherman and the World’s greatest Papa. Bob is survived by his mother, Sharon Evone, Salem, OR; wife Rachel Dawn, St. John, KS; sons, Bob Jay (Michelle) Burns, Jr, Waverly WV, Ryan Allen (Tabitha) Burns, Norton, KS, Jayton Daniel (Bailey) Burns, Ozawkie, KS; daughters, Krystal Rose (Tyler) Emmett, ID, Ariel Ashley (David) Standlee, Ellinwood, KS, Bailey Reanna (Ty Wycoff) Burns, St. John, KS; son-in-law, Jared Hicks, St. John, KS; brothers, Ray (Becky) Burns, Providence, RI, Rick (Maxie) Burns, Salem, OR, Larry (Kathy) Burns, White Salmon, WA; sisters, Teresa Burns, Salem, OR, Marita Burns, Crooked River Ranch, OR; grandchildren, Jaxsin, Emmett, Breckyn, Marshal, Sawyer, Dominic, Alex, and Veronica. He was preceded in death by his father Jack. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021 at the Minnis Chapel, St. John, with family present from 5-7. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, Aug. 13, 2021 at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with John Hamm presiding. Burial will follow at the Trinity Cemetery, Hudson, KS. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Kansas City, in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
