Carol Ward

April 16, 1929 — February 24, 2019

Carol Marie Ward, age 89 passed away on February 24, 2019 at Pratt Regional Medical Center.  She was born on April 16, 1929 at Great Bend, KS, the daughter of Clyde and Pearl (Fair) Durham.  She attended two years at William Woods College, Fulton, MO, was a homemaker and life-long resident of St. John.  On August 7, 1948 she married Kenneth Howard Ward at Hudson, KS, he preceded her in death in 1998.  Her memberships include the Hudson Community Church where she taught Sunday school and served on the church consistory, PEO, Bridge Club, past board of directors for Stafford County Flour Mills and St. John National Bank.  Survivors include a son, Steve Ward, St. John, KS; a daughter, Cindy Chandler (Klem), Bentonville, AR; two grandchildren, Matthew Ward, Pratt, KS, Kami Nickelson (Brian), Pratt, KS; four great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Durham. Visitation will be from 4-7PM on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Minnis Chapel, St. John.  Graveside inurnment will be 1:30 PM on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, KS.  Memorials may be given to the Trinity Community Church in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
