Cheryl Joan Newell

Cheryl Joan Newell, 70, passed away on December 3, 2024 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, KS. Born in Hutchinson, KS on April 19, 1954 she was the daughter of George and Wilma Joan (Dale) McElheny. 

On June 2, 1973 she married Terry Elliott at Turon, KS, she later married Ben Ellis Newell on September 20, 1997 at Stafford, KS.

She was a 1972 graduate of Fairfield High School.

Cheryl was a homemaker, loved the outdoors, family and friends, her animals, and most importantly loved God. She was a strong, hardworking woman who would do anything for family.

Survivors include husband, Ben Newell, Hudson Kansas, two sons, Jamie Elliott (Holly), Hutchinson, KS; Bill Elliott, Wichita, KS; a daughter Natalie Pelzl (Rick), Medicine Lodge, KS; a step-son Brandson Newell (Rachel), Greensburg, KS; a step-daughter, Misty Newell (Eddie Towers), St. John, KS; three sisters, Debbie Shankle (Curtis), Kingman, KS; Susan Rickets (Greg), Hutchinson, KS; Christine Walters, South Hutchinson, KS; 15 grandchildren, Brandon, Alyssa, Katlyn, Gage, Emily, Carson, Travis, Kailyn, Eddie, Jr., Tasha, Breanna, Austin, Tanner, Tye, Taton, Treyson and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son Nathan Elliott, two brothers, Randy and Tim McElheny, and a granddaughter Kaylee Elliott.
