Ferreldean Roohms

Ferreldean Roohms, age 104, passed away on Apr. 16, 2019 at the Stafford County Hospital.  She was born on Sept. 8, 1914 in rural Stafford County, KS, to LeRoy and Lulu (Little) Taylor.  Ferreldean was a homemaker and life-long resident of the area, graduating from St. John High School in 1933.  Her memberships include the First United Methodist Church and Harmony Music and Study Club.  On May 23, 1936 she married Wade O’Connor Roohms at Larned, KS, he passed away in 1978.  Survivors include a daughter, Janet Richardson (Ron), St. John, KS, a son, Robert Roohms (Kathy), St. John, KS; 2 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren.  She was  preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Taylor; three sisters, Vida Miller, Vera Crissman and Virgie Aenchbacher.  Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, Apr. 19, 2019 at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with Pastor Nathan Gift presiding.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John.  Visitation will be on Thursday, Apr. 18, 2019 from 1-7PM at the funeral home, with family present from 5-7PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church or the donor’s choice in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
