Leola Kay Campbell

Peacefully and surrounded by family and friends, Leola Kay Campbell passed away at her home in Lawrence, KS on July 30, 2023. She was born on Aug. 14, 1946 at Lyons, KS. Leola married Michael Campbell on October 3, 1964, in St. John, KS. He preceded her in death in 2019. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Verlie Baker, and two siblings, Fayola Ware and Dennis Baker. 

Lovingly remembered by her family, she is survived by two children: son Mitchel Campbell & wife Shawnda of Lawrence, KS, and daughter Yvette Gadberry & husband Bill of Eudora, KS. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. 

A celebration of life service will be Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Minnis Chapel in St. John, KS., with Rev. Tonya Andrews presiding.  A private inurnment with Rebekah Lodge #425 honors will be held at Neeland Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Humane Society or the American Cancer Society in care of Minnis Chapel, Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
