Leslie Deighton, Jr., age 83, passed away on Nov. 8, 2021 at the Stafford County Hospital, Stafford, KS. He was born on Nov. 19, 1937 at Larned, KS., the son of Leslie A. and Clara (Elmore) Deighton, Sr. On Nov. 30, 1957, he married Barbara Lyda at Alva, OK., she survives. A resident of Macksville, KS., since 1967, he was the owner and operator of Les Deighton Sales and Repair in downtown Macksville, KS. He was a member of the Fort Larned Good Sam’s Camping Club. Survivors include his wife Barbara of the home; two sons, David (Tracy) Deighton, St. John, KS., Dale (Sara) Deighton, Hill City, KS.; two daughters, Debbie (Tracy) Bright, Macksville, KS., Dayna (Mark) Smith, Great Bend, KS.; a sister, Jean Gross, Larned, KS.; 12 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers, Robert, Jim and Ned Deighton; four sisters, Juanita Skelton, Della Skelton, Elaine Bantz, LaDayne Burger; grandson, Ryan Deighton.
Visitation will be on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, from 1-7 PM at Minnis Chapel, Macksville, KS., with the family present from 5-7 PM. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 at the Macksville Christian Church, Macksville, KS., with Pastor Jacob Russell presiding. Burial will follow in the Farmington Cemetery, Macksville, KS. Memorials may be given to the Macksville Christian Church in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
