Leslie Minks

Leslie R. Minks, age 88, passed away Oct. 30, 2017 at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation, Halstead, KS. Leslie was born on Oct. 24, 1929 at Buffalo, OK, the son of Leslie R. Minks, Sr. and Eva Dies Minks. He was a retired Laborer and a past resident of St. John, KS, for 38 years. On Nov. 6, 1954 he married Patricia Marie (Sculley) at Great Bend, KS. He was a member of the VFW and served in the US Army. Survivors include a son, Galen Minks; two daughters, Dianna Sterling and Susan Garcia; four sisters, Florence Berry, Ila Head, Faye Fairbank and Deannie Rand; four grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren; and 1 step great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife Patricia Marie, brothers Louis Vern Minks, Lee Roy Minks and sisters May Thomas and Hazel Sisco. Memorial graveside service with Military Honors will be held on a later date, at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, KS, Memorials may be given to Halstead Health and Rehabilitation and/or Good Shepherd Hospice of Wichita, in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O.
