Lloyd D. Estes, age 92, passed away on Dec. 25, 2022 at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Home, Buhler, KS.  He was born on June 7, 1930 in Pawnee County, KS., the son of Orvin Lloyd and Ada Merle (Sligar) Estes. On Nov. 11, 1950, he married Verla D. (Russell) at St. John, KS, she preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 2022.  Lloyd was a farmer-stockman and life-long resident of the St. John area.  He served in the United States Air Force, SSgt, from 1951-55.  His memberships were, IOOF Lodge-St. John, Rose Valley Township board member and developed a love of flying private airplanes.  Survivors include a daughter, Trish (Mark) Asche, Burrton, KS; a son, David (Gay) Estes, Arlington, KS; 7 grandchildren, Marla (Rick) Richardson, Little River, KS, Mandy (Travis) Seeber, McPherson, KS., Keri Asche, Greeley, CO., Kayla (Tyler) Shirey, Lewistown, MO., Heather (Derek Armstrong) Estes, Turon, KS., Krystal Estes, Sylvia, KS., Derek (Beth) Wade, Cambridge, KS.; and 11 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM, Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022 at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with family present from 5-7 PM.  Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, Dec. 30, 2022 at Minnis Chapel, St. John, KS., with Pastor Roland Broeder presiding. Burial will follow at the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, KS.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
