Marion Lee Reh

Pratt, Kansas

Marion Lee Reh, age 81, passed away on Oct. 21, 2024 at Pratt Regional Medical Center, Pratt, Kansas. He was born on Dec. 15, 1942 in Hays, KS, the son of Marion Luther and Roberta Alice (Hoskins) Reh. Marion grew up in Natoma, Kansas, graduating from Natoma High School in 1960. The highlight of his high school years was playing basketball for Coach John Locke and winning 2 consecutive State Championships. He continued his love for basketball as a diehard KU fan.

Marion was a Central Office Equipment Installer for Western Electric and then AT&T, and later did contracting work for Marconi Communications. After retirement he was the Owner/Operator of Reh Tire Service in Leoti, Kansas.

In 1960 he married Earline Thurston, he later married Deana Wiegers in 1977. He was a member of the Kansas Western Horseman’s Association (KWHA) and the National Saddle Clubs Association (NSCA) serving both associations as President and Board Member for many years. He was also a fierce competitor, being awarded many high point awards and still holds the record for the NSCA in Barrel & Stake Sr. Men and Western Relay. These organizations were very important to him as he was able to compete with his entire family and with lifelong friendships being formed. His love of sports, horses, and fast cars has been passed on to future generations of the Reh family.

He is survived by his daughter, Terri Goble, Wichita, KS; two sons Tommy Reh, Rose Hill, KS; Ryan Reh, Hutchinson, KS; a sister-in-law Robin Reh, Omaha, NE; 6 grandchildren, Derek Goble, Stacy Hornbeck, Chelsea Theede, Marina Gonsalves, Colten Reh, and Parker Reh; 3 great-grandchildren, Peyton Goble, Easton Goble, and Emersyn Goble. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Gary and Dennis Reh. Cremation has taken place; a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family has requested memorials for Marion Reh to be given to the Kansas Western Horseman’s Association (KWHA) and/or the National Saddle Clubs Association (NSCA), in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 34, St. John, KS 67576
