Peggy June (Aves) Wilson, age 90, passed away on Dec. 6, 2024 at Pratt Regional Medical Center, Pratt, KS. She was born on May 21, 1934 at Hopewell, KS., the daughter of John Emerson and Leatha Marie (Johnson) Aves. She was a resident of rural Macksville since 1948. She was a member of the Macksville Christian Church since 1987, Macksville Mother’s Club, Macksville Centennial Committee, MHS Booster Club, Red Hat Society, and Red Cross Coordinator. Peggy was an avid supporter of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren by attending many of their sporting and academic events. She became a homemaker on Jan. 3, 1953, when she married Doyle E. Wilson in rural Macksville, KS. Survivors include her husband Doyle of the home; four daughters, Denice (Allen) Bevan, Macksville, KS., Sandra (Carey) McAllister, Macksville, KS., Linda (Steve) Gotsche, Manhattan, KS., Shari (Jeff) Parr, Macksville, KS.; a sister-in-law, Norma Jean Aves, Macksville, KS; 11 grandchildren, Tessa Lickiss, Levi (Sara) McAllister, Logan (Kathryn) McAllister, Sheila Bevan, Adam (Kelsey) Gotsche, Cody Bevan, Ryan (Alex) Gotsche, Kelon (Abbie) Parr, Derek (Ashlee) Bevan, Keira (Dylan) Vogel, and Kreed Parr. 19 great grandchildren, Kaleb Lickiss, Lance Lickiss, Tanner McAllister, Lakyn McAllister, Kole McAllister, Tatum McAllister, Oakley Bevan, Taylin Bevan, Kesleigh Vogel, Collins Gotsche, Dakson Vogel, Caylee Bevan, Kane Parr, Kyler Gotsche, Makayla Bevan, Klay Parr, Kolter Vogel, Fallon Gotsche, Landry Bevan with #20 arriving in February. Preceded in death by a brother, Edward Eugene “Gene” Aves, a sister-in-law, Ethelmae Page, a brother-in-law Leland Page, and a grandson-in-law Bradley Lickiss. Visitation will be on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024 from 1-7pm at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with family present from 5-7pm. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, Dec. 13, 2024 at the Macksville Christian Church, Macksville, KS., with Pastors Jacob Russell and John Hamm presiding. Burial will follow in the Farmington Cemetery, Macksville, KS. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the Macksville Christian Church in care of Minnis Chapel, Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
