Randall Carter

Hutchinson, KS

Randall Dean Carter, age 73, passed away Aug. 21, 2020 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home, Inman, KS.  He was born on Jan. 20, 1947 at Sidney, NE, the son of Dean Dir and Carmel Lee (Johnson) Carter.  He was a long-time resident of Hutchinson. Randy had previously worked for Hutch Correctional Facility as a Corrections Counselor for 16 years and spent 16 years as owner of the Venture Inn. Randall graduated from St. John High School in 1965. He attended Hutchinson Community College before entering the Navy and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW Post #1361, American Legion Post #68, American GI forum, and attended the Church of Christ.  On March 4, 1978 he married Molly Monje (Garcia) at Hutchinson, KS, she passed away in 2018.  Survivors include two brothers, Dennis A. Carter, Moundridge, KS, Kevin Carter (Jeannine), Dodge City, KS; a sister, Becky S. Carter, Larned, KS. Military graveside honors will be 10:30 AM, Friday, Aug. 28, 2020 at the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, KS.  Randall and Molly will be laid to rest together in a double ceremony presided by Zeb Carter. Family and friends are encouraged to wear their KC Chiefs or Nebraska Cornhusker attire.  Memorials may be given to the Bob Campbell VFW Post #1361 in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
